GoodSense® Maximum Strength Antacid

Don’t Let Heartburn Hold You Back

Compares to the active ingredients in Mylanta® Maximum Strength Liquid. GoodSense® Maximum Strength Antacid relieves heartburn, acid indigestion, sour stomach, and pressure and bloating commonly referred to as gas.

Acidic, spicy and fatty food as well as caffeinated beverages, alcohol and dairy products can cause frequent heartburn. Those who deal with it understand the uncomfortable burning sensation in the lower chest or throat. Heartburn occurs when acid from your stomach moves up, irritating the sensitive lining of the esophagus (the tube that transports liquids and foods from the throat to the stomach). Normally, the lower esophageal sphincter acts like a trap door, allowing food down into the stomach. When it becomes too relaxed it allows acid to back up into the esophagus, causing an uncomfortable sensation in the lower chest or throat.

Tips to Help Avoid Heartburn

  • Eat smaller meals.
  • Do not wear tight-fitting clothing around the stomach.
  • Avoid eating within 3 to 4 hours of bedtime. Lying down with a full stomach causes the stomach contents to press harder against the lower esophageal sphincter (LES).
  • Avoid heartburn-causing foods.
